Software is a programs and other operating information used by a computer.

• Differentiate between application software and system software and provide TWO example of each software category 
• In 150 words, write a summary of software that you always use inside your computer. How does the software help you to complete your task or facilitate your work

Software is a set of instructions and associated documentation that tells a computer what to do or how to perform a task. Basically system software is a general purpose software which is used to operate hardware. Application software is a specific purpose software which is used for performing specific task. System software can run independently which works in the background but not application because they can't run without the presence of system software  which interacts with application software.System software are installed on the computer when the operating system is installed but application software is according to user' requirement.  Two examples of  system software are driver and compiler. For application software there are web browser and media player.

The software that I always use in my computer the application system. The application systems are  web browser, word processor and media player. i use web browser because it is easy for me to login into my email to check my mail and my facebook so that i can be able to be socialize with my friends. do do my assignments i usually use word processor because it consist of many options to write a letter or complete an assignment. for the media player, that's where I spend most of my busy and leisure time.. i love listening to songs because it gives me peace of mind. This is the application I usually use in my computer.

My name is Pressanna. I was born in Ipoh, Perak on 14/07/1994. I completed my primary and secondary studies in S.M.K Convent Ipoh. Currently I am pursuing my studies in KDU Penang. My ambition is to be an entrepreneur, that is why i choose this business course so that I will develop a broad knowledge of business operations. I'm a very simple, caring and understanding human. I believe in the motto 'You Only Live Once' (YOLO). I like listening to songs because music speaks what cannot be express, heals the heart as well as relaxes the mind. Other than that, I love reading books. The genre that I love reading is a fiction. Because the stories are so creative and it boosts my mind towards thinking creatively. I've a pet dog called Ruby. It's is a black Shih-poo mix breed. She is turning 2 this November. I love her so much because I personally think that pets destroy the feeling of loneliness. Ruby is like my guardian. Notebook vs tablet

 Please write 150 words summary of your comparison

   A notebook is a personal computer which is smaller than a briefcase where you can use it conveniently anywhere you want temporarily. It weighs less than 5 pounds and is 3 inches or less in thickness. The prime usage of a notebook is for internet browsing and emailing. The notebook is capable of supporting any operating system like Windows, OS X( Apple) and Linux. Whereas, a tablet is a wireless portable computer with a touchscreen interface which is smaller than a notebook but larger than a smart phone. Tablets weighs under 0.8kg. The usage of tablets are more because it can display applications like in a smart phone and can be used to browse the internet too. The tablets operating system are Windows and OS X (Apple).

      Your mother plan to setup an online cooking classes and she need your help to decide either to buy a notebook or a tablet for her. Write a short summary (100 words) of your opinion which is a better option for her.

I would recommend my mother to buy a tablet because the purpose is to setup a online cooking class. So she will find it very helpful because a tablet is very portable and handy. It can be used anywhere without finding a place to place it. Furthermore, with Wi-Fi and 3G Sim cards the internet browsing works just well. It will be easier for my mother to be socially active with her viewers. Tablet has better battery life, which will make my mothers day easier when she is traveling. Other than that, tablets also comes with different storage like 16GB,32GB and 64GB which can be more in the future. It is convenient because we all would definitely have a lots of videos, photos and songs. This is why I would recommend my mother to buy tablet for her  online cooking class.

Write a short summary (50 words) of your justification.

 SSD stands for solid state drive. It is a solid state-state device that uses integrated circuit assemblies as memory to store data persistently. HDD is hard disk drive which is the main and largest data storage in the computer. Do you know how you can restart a computer but still have access to all data, its because of HDD. It keeps hold of its data even when powered off. The difference between these two is not large than 4TB for desktop while for HDD is 10TB for desktop. the price for SSD is higher than HDD. Not only that, the battery life for SDD draws lesser than HDD which uses more battery. SDD uses less power and does not generate noise while HDD uses more electricity to rotate the platters hence it produces noise.

I prefer HDD because i want more storage capacity which HDD has 10TB. Even if it is expensive the performance is good so i would choose HDD. The speed is also better than SSD. The estimated  life span is basically around 5 years but SSD is infinite. But i still prefer HDD.

In your own words, describe what is computer and its importance to your life.

A computer is a machine which is capable of receiving information in a particular form and of performing a sequence of operations. It is a also known as a programmed device. these programs enable computers to perform an extremely wide range of task. You can also use it to edit or create spreadsheet, presentations and even videos. In the current world, its almost impossible to be without a computer. Not only that it helps business people make productive income and helps students understand well about their studies.

List and explain in your own words the main computer components.

There are 4 main computer components which are the CPU (central processing unit),memory,input device and output device, The CPU is the brain of the computer where most calculations takes place. It is a piece of hardware that carries out the instructions is a computer program. Many CPU's today can do more than 1 billion instruction in a single click. The next one is the memory. It is a physical device capable of storing information temporarily or permanently. Input device is a piece of hardware used to provide data and control signals. Examples of input devices are keyboards,mouse and scanner. After the CPU execute instruction, output devices allow data from computer to display. Examples of output devices are monitor, printer and fax machine.

Based on your understanding, compare the usage of personal computer and laptop.

Based on my opinion, the PC is larger and laptop is compact. Laptop runs on a rechargeable battery while PC is operated by a direct power source. If the owner wants to upgrade their PC they can install a newer graphic card or hard disk but a laptop is harder to upgrade.

How does a computer contributes in your personal daily routine a student?

Answer : Students can revise the lessons given in their classroom using the computer because if there is any doubt they can easily surf into the internet to clear it. It helps students to understand even better about their homework and studying outline. Secondly, it helps the students to do assignments as well as stores them in the storage. Computer is important for a student to do research. By using the Microsoft office, students are able to create a neat work when submitting their coursework. It will help to maintain their grades. Computer is important for students because it helps the deal with school or college requirements. Not only that, in this globalized generation we tend to have a lot of friends. The computer and internet will help us to connect and exchange photos and information as well. Those who read through the internet always expands their creativity and knowledge. That is how computer helps in a students daily life.
